In order to promote the creation of an environmentally friendly Beijing and pave
way for a "Green" 2008 Olympic Games, Beijing has committed itself to very high
and ambitious environmental goals; ones which if achieved will percolate out into
Chinese society and out into the world as a whole. In this endeavor, the Beijing
Municipal Environmental Construction Office, Beijing Municipal Foreign Affairs
Office, Environmental Protection foundation, and Beijing Sunbelt Consulting
Corporation is pleased to invite you to the first Beijing-Intergovernmental
Environmental Protection event to support the core objective to have a "Green
Olympics". The event will be held on September 16th 2006 at Fragrant Hill Park
(East Gate) from 3:30 pm-6: 30pm. At the event, Beijing vice Mayor Ji Lin, German
Environmental Expert Tanja Ploetz, Chinese folk artists and foreign Ambassadors
will commit towards creating a green Beijing. Take part in creating environmental
awareness and clean our city!
Schedule:
13:30 Shuttle Bus #1 departs from Jianguomen (Beijing Interntional Club) to
Fragrant Hills Park.
13:40 Shuttle Bus #2 departs from Dongzhimen (Pizza Hut) to Fragrant Hills Park.
14:40 Buses arrive at Fragrant Hills Park East gate where guests will be ushered
onto the event's main stage. Guests and volunteers will then
decorate the stage with recycle products.
15:00 Wind band performance
15:30 Opening Ceremony
Opening Speakers:
Beijing government officials do the last stage decorations and give
opening speeches.

better and introduce efficient EP measures German take.
16:10 Signing Ceremony of the event's banner:
Government officials, Ambassadors, and Sponsors will sign the
event's official banner and take pictures.
16:15 Signing Ceremony of the event's official banner:
Chinese government officials, guests, and volunteers will sign the
event's official banner and take pictures. The banner will be
displayed in the Beijing Capital Museum.
16:30 Event Souvenirs and Charity gifts:
Guests and Volunteers can pick up the event's official souvenir T
shirts.
Beijing Fine Arts University students will sell art works created
from recycled goods. Revenues will be donated to the Beijing
Environmental Protection Foundation.
17:00 Guests and Volunteers climb mountain to the Platform
18:00 Climb down the mountain and have dinner at Teahouse
19:00 Board shuttle buses to Jianguomen-Dongzhimen
